Da’Quan Bowers isn’t the only prospect headed for medical re-check

AP

Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers will head back to Indianapolis this weekend for the most talked about medical re-check in recent draft history.  (Hey, we don’t have much else to talk about.)

Bowers isn’t the only one headed back returning to Naptown this weekend to be examined fully one final time before the draft.  Chad Reuter of CBSSports.com details eight other kids with important evaluations coming up.  Here are four of the most notable:

1. Notre Dame tight end Kyle Rudolph:  It’s a big week for Rudolph, who also has his Pro Day Thursday.

2. Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder: Teams just want to check that Ponder’s shoulder remains in good shape after working it hard throughout the pre-draft process.

3. Indiana wideout Tandon Doss: He didn’t seem fully healthy at his Pro Day and struggled Wednesday.  The re-check will be huge for Doss, who could go anywhere from the second-to-fourth round.

4. Alabama wideout Julio Jones: The potential top 10 pick’s surgery for a hairline fracture on his foot has received surprisingly little attention or concern.   Teams will want to make sure the injury is healing as expected.

UPDATE:  A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that Ponder will not be going to the medical re-check.
