Are you sure you have been to Minnesota. I am pretty sure by looking at the ladies in Minnesota that it is SKOAL! I like the vikings it is a guaranteed two wins on the schedule for the pack. I hope they don’t move. I like most viking fans as well but if they do move I suppose I have to learn to look at the bright side. The bright side being maybe pervy will commit suicide.

Lord help us if they’re stupid enough to let it happen again. Then they’ll beg and plead to get a new team, and will end up building a new stadium anyway to get one. Only it will end up costing more in the end (See Xcel Energy Center and Target Center). Build the damn stadium now, keep the team we have, and everyone ends up happy. I don’t see people bitching about Target Field now that its built, everyone is oohing and aaahing about how its one of the nicest stadiums in baseball. Same thing will happen with the Vikes stadium, so just build it and people will forget they’re paying for it in 6 months…

Actually, it has a lot more to do with all the liberal spending – please try to remember that the stadium is up against a 5 billion dollar budget deficit that the conservatives inherited from liberals who have been bloating the state government for the past 15 years.

The citizens should not be forced into paying for something they can not afford. To choose between the basics of keeping a city alive and a new billion dollar stadium is unfair. The fans support the team, but unless a revenue sharing agreement is set up with the city or state, stop asking for the poor to pay for the rich folks toys.
The league is a for profit business ,but they are destroying the fans faith in cities when they hold the morale of a city at hostage about threating to take their toys to someones house to play. Sports teams tend to unite and drive cities beyond the basic politics. Cities and fanbases will support the teams long after the owners have sold. The owner is just the guy who holds the keys,but fans don’t care when “under new management” is announced. It is about the name on the front of the jersey and the history for the fans.
The only constant is the fans; owners and players come and go.

I’m a member of a Packers season ticket holding family, but a resident of the Minneapolis/St. Paul. I DO NOT, I repeat, I DO NOT want the Vikings to leave. As much fodder for ridiculing my Viking fan friends as this would give me, the rivalry over the last couple years is way too good to sacrifice.

On the other hand, I also DO NOT believe that citizens who are not season ticket holders should need to pay for these private multimillion dollar stadiums. I definitely do not want to have my taxes raised to pay for the stadium of any team, much less a team I hate. I think a rare exception would be the increased sales tax in Brown County to pay for the Lambeau renovation – the city of Green Bay desperately needs the Packers. The Twin Cities would be just fine without the Vikes (economically speaking – emotionally, who knows).
