Have any of you guys actually listened to Mayock do a game?

After he says “and bam” about 200 freaking times you may not be so enthused about him being in the booth. He’s as annoying after awhile as Maden was.

I kinda agree with this. He does do those John Madden type things over and over. Tho, anything is better than Theismann and Millen.

He has an “everyman” approach that plays well to the audience. He can be self deprecating and hsi insights are usually good. His complete failure in Detroit is going to keep his opinions from ever being taken seriously tho, and for a commentator that is a death sentence.

Mayock knows what he’s talking about. His lisp gets a little annoying.

I’ve never heard a lisp… he simply has a MD accent. I am kinda used to the sound of that accent though because I worked w/ a lot of people from that area. I know someone who has both an MD accent AND a lisp…so I can tell.

I like Mayock as an analyst but I LOVE Charles Davis whether it’s game analysis or studio analysis. No one talks about Davis much but he’s really, really good. Davis is engaging, has a nice sense of humor that’s understated, isn’t repetitive or prone to cliches and he’s VERY knowledgeable in both the technical aspects of the game and the history. He works in his own anecdotes pretty seamlessly also. Another thing I love about Davis which is lacking in a lot of other network guys is that he can critique AND praise without going overboard into either nastiness or hagiography.

PAPA & MAYOCK WOULD BE A GREAT COMBO.

It is pretty pathetic what some people comment on here.

Mayock is hands down the best player analysis right now.

You can claim favoritism, but that’s part of the business. People promote people.

I’d love to hear him call games.

The one person I can’t stand is Joe Buck. He just irritates me with his attitude that “Everything I say is above the standard”

Here’s hoping he won’t show such bias favortism to certain NFL athletes while underminding and weakening the hard work and talents of others.

Millen needs to get fired, and should not even have a broadcasting job.

The guy is a fool !

Maybe ABC/ ESPN will take note that putting Millen on Big 10 games involving Michigan or Michigan State is not a good idea and pisses off viewers. Then again , the head of ABc/ Sports college football area Shelby ( forgot his last name ) is an idiot !

Millen and Pam Ward are the worst announcer and analysts when it comes to football ! I’d rather listen to nails on a chalkboard !

As for Theismann, just put him on Notre Dame games.

Mayock you join a booth and stay there. He really knows how to analyze a game.

Having said that Mayock has been one of the best on the network. He doesn’t aggrandize or yuk it up like the rest there.

He’s WYSIWYG. Which is refreshing for a network of “hey remember me when I actually was worth your attention” type guys.
