finely was injured in 09 (knee) for many games, and missed most of 2010 with another knee injury. he has only been in the league 2 years. he is injury prone.

Finley is one of the best TEs in the game, and one injury does not make you injury prone.

Interesting that Finley gets all the ink, here. Brandon Pettigrew of the Lions broke all of Charlie Sanders’ Detroit receiving records at tight end last year, and no one ever heard of him.

Finley is very good, but he is also fragile, and given that he has trouble staying on the field, he might not even be the best TE in the NFC North. Remember the Vikings’ Visanthe Shancoe also plays there, and he and Pettigrew both deserve serious consideration. Shame about the Bears, huh?

Pettigrew put up 722 yards with 4 TDs in 16 games.

Shiancoe put up 530 yards with 2 TDs in 16 games.

Finley put up 301 yards with 1 TD in 4 games.

Yeah, he’s overrated. Simple fact is he is on the field and he’s dominate. Yep, 24 years old, absolutely can’t recover from his injury.

If Barry Sanders was traded to the Packers. I would still root for Barry. In fact i wish he would have got traded to a team with a shot. I felt bad that he didn t get rewarded for his extreme talent.

I think if you look at the numbers you’ll see that I probably had a 10-game stretch that was just as good as Finley’s.

Dude is ridiculous. Look at the game he had in the playoffs against the Cards in the epic shootout. May have some of the best hands in the NFL.

Should be a 11 or 12 win season up in GB this year with a home playoff game or two. (ie. Easier road to the Super Bowl). Besides the fans that did not have seats want to attend in Indy on Goodalls dime this year.

After Finley went down, it took a couple games to adjust, but Jennings, Jones and Nelson all put up career years because rodgers had to learn to spread the wealth and not Zero in on Finley.

He’s a great piece to add to our receiver group, especially with Jones probably gone, Can the Packers win without him, Yes they proved that.

Do we want to have him? Yes as long as it’s not at the risk of the locker room harmony or the Chemistry on the field.

You are right. But that’s not on Finley. That shows just how much faith that Rodgers has in Finley. Finley was double and even triple covered, but Rodgers was STILL throwing him the ball. Finley’s catch rate was very high despite this.

First of all, these guys are rarely healthy, as they take so much punishment at the position due to their inability to avoid big hits.

Secondly, nary a single one on this list is an elite run-blocker. More and more of the prospects at this position are giant WRs more than they are mobile OTs. That is the trend in recent drafts – exploit the smaller, faster defensive players of recent years with huge TEs.

The Packers obviously wanted Quarless to be more productive last season, but unless he suddenly develops, Finley will get his money. Now all he has to do is stay healthy.

As for dudes saying this cat is overrated they clearly are either haters or don’t watch a lot of Packer games when he plays. Injury prone for sure, but absolutely unstoppable when he’s healthy. Unstoppable in the seem. He will be top 5 TE after next year.

The guy has had maturity issues but I think he’s growing in that sense. Rodgers loves him, and he hasn’t been shy about calling out anyone who isn’t working hard enough. Finley has loads of talent but he absolutely has a lot to prove before they open the vault for him. I hope he’s mature enough to understand that.
