As Florio mentioned earlier, Commissioner Roger Goodell has started to hold conference calls with season ticket holders from around the league. He’s even breaking a little news during them.

Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that Goodell told fans there are contingency plans to postpone the Super Bowl one week and cut the week prior to the Super Bowl if necessary. (The fans presumably asked what would happen to the Super Bowl if the work stoppage continues to drag on deep into August or September.)

The remark is a reminder that this odd NFL year won’t suddenly turn normal with a new CBA agreement. The subsequent free agency period, abbreviated offseason, and possibly altered Super Bowl schedule will all remind us of this ridiculous lockout.
