Source: Taiwan Jones runs 4.33 at Thursday Pro Day

Taiwan Jones AP

A league source tells PFT’s Mike Florio that Eastern Washington running back Taiwan Jones ran a 4.33 forty time at his individual Pro Day Thursday.

NFL scouts routinely add time to Pro Day forty-yard dashes based on perceived speed of surface. It’s still an impressive number, and will generate plenty of attention around the league.

The source also tells Florio that 25 teams were represented at the workout.

Per various other reports, Jones posted an 11-foot broad jump and 39 1/2-inch vertical. So his explosiveness doesn’t just show up in a straight line on the track.

Jones is a projected second- to third-round pick.

    — I vote the packers take him not Ingram (if for whatever reason he would still be there). we dont need a running back that can pound we need one that can flash.

Thunder and Hammer the only way to do it.

The pack doesn’t really need anything considering the guys you have coming back from injury . But yeah with Grant coming back a faster “dash” kinda guy would fit. I think this guy will be a patriot though. he really fits what they like to do and he could replace faulk.

The Bills have a line on him to compliment CJ Spilled.

  9. schemefactory says: Apr 14, 2011 2:56 PM

is he one of the “replacement players” everyone says are everywhere? cuz i’ve never heard of him, either.

why would the Bills even look at him as an option skoobyfl? thats a terrible assumption.

The dolphins should make a move after this guy, they need a new running back and a QB

And Mark Ingram continues to fall, with a possibly bum knee and this stud from Eastern Washgington helping his stock.

  15. cclawman says: Apr 14, 2011 5:19 PM

There are not a lot of guys who have the capability to score EVERY time he touches the ball. Taiwan is one of those guys.

I don’t think Grant is coming back. His contract was up I think in late March but with the current situation going on who knows.
Yea I think this guy would look good in green and yellow. Make it interested in the Vikes sadium at that speeed.

I believe Grant signed a 4 year extension in 2008.

There is some question about Taiwan’s times. The stopwatches were made in China.

Raiders select with their first round pick, Tiawan Jones.
Speed kills, just ask Al Davis if he is ever awake.

For all you experts, the Raiders dont have a first round pick this year… Secondly, they already have the best backfield tandem in the NFL… We dont need Mr. Jones
