On Thurday, Silva pointed out that Titans running back Chris Johnson wants the team to draft quarterback Cam Newton.

But it looks like Johnson’s first preference is to not have to draft a quarterback at all.

Johnson said Thursday that he wants the team to keep Vince Young. Johnson believes that, with coach Jeff Fisher gone, there’s a chance Young will indeed stay.

“It is not etched in stone that Vince is going to be gone, so I am not sure what they are going to do at quarterback,” Johnson said, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “A lot of things have changed in the last few months, so maybe Vince will be back?

“At first it was set in stone when Coach Fisher was here because he didn’t want Vince back. It was an either-or situation then. Now that Coach Fisher is gone, everything is up in the air. We’ll just see what happens.”

That said, the Titans have said that, even with Fisher gone, Vince Young won’t be back.

Then again, the Titans also had said that Fisher would be back.

So maybe Johnson is right.
