Mediation breaks until Tuesday

There will be no surprise mediation sessions between the NFL and NFLPA* over the weekend. In fact, both sides will get an extra day apart before they head back to the negotiating table.

Albert Breer of NFL.com reports that the latest round of mediation has broken for the weekend and will reconvene Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The two sides met for roughly 10 hours on Thursday. Friday’s session was between three and four hours.

Hopefully, the extra time away from the table is intended to allow both sides to come up with solutions for compromise. With the money everyone sitting at the negotiating table is making, there should be no more “off” days left until a deal is worked out.
