Greg Olsen went through an ordeal early this week made for writers like us looking for content during a slow work stoppage. He was locked out of a local high school.

“I live right down the street from Stevenson,” Olsen said on ESPN Chicago 1000. “The other day I went out there, [had] done it a bunch of times, and all of a sudden they kicked me off. I tried calling everyone over there to see if I could [go back on], and no one would call me back.”

A few places ran with the story, and contacted the local high school information director, who said they could probably work something out with Olsen if he wanted to use the field during non-school hours.

Olsen took to Twitter to say the whole thing was blown on proportion. Since we haven’t blown it out of proportion yet, we better start now.

“This HS field thing has gotten outa control. Just to get story str8. No class was on field. Met no teachers. Left when asked and called school,” Olsen wrote. “Asked If I could sign paperwork or use at another time in message which wasn’t returned. Also have been to the school to speak to various classes and groups with no issue since moved in district. Blown way out proportion.”

Thankfully, no high school gym participants were hurt during Olsen’s workout sessions.
