Britt makes first court appearance on his recent arrest

Last week, Titans receiver Kenny Britt was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, arising from a high-speed chase followed by parking his car followed by getting out and walking away as if he wasn’t driving the car followed by lying to cops who were trying to get to the truth.

According to Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger, Britt appeared in court on Tuesday in conjunction with charges of eluding the police, hindering apprehension, and obstructing governmental function. Britt has not yet entered a plea, and the case has been referred to the Hudson County, New Jersey prosecutors for additional investigation.

Britt, his lawyer, and his father attended the hearing. They offered no comment.

It’s unclear whether Britt faces punishment from the league, given that the incident occurred during a lockout. The league has said that the personal conduct policy applies, but that seems to be a flimsy proposition.
