We pointed out earlier today that the Bengals will be working out Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder in his hometown of Dallas on Friday.

While in Texas, they’ll be working out another quarterback with ties to the Lone Star State.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bengals will privately work out Texas Christian quarterback Andy Dalton on Friday, six days before the start of the draft.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated recently quoted an unnamed coach who observed that “[i]t’s getting very hard for [Bengals offensive coordinator] Jay Gruden to hide how much he loves Andy Dalton.”

Within the next nine days, we’ll find out whether Gruden loves Dalton enough for the Bengals to marry him.

If they were really making the most of their trip to Texas, they’d be calling Michael Irvin for some hookups.

The best thing the Bungles could do is keep going south and move the team to Mexico City.

Does this are going to bust Johnny Jolly out of jail and sign him to a long term contract as well?

Just as long as Andy doesn’t have to pose on the front cover of ESPN-magazine in a wedding dress.

Dalton may want a pre-nup agreement first … Carson Palmer is probably regretting he didn’t make one.

The Texans will gladly trade up for Peterson and you’ll have your choice at #11..

They’d better hope he’s not another big-game choker like Carson Palmer.

Makes complete sense for Cincy to get a stud in round 1 and get their QB in round 2… but everyone knows it. Cincy will need to trade-up to #32 or #33 to get their QB or someone else will.

Why has it just been assumed that Carson will just be able to walk away into the sunlight. He has FOUR years and $50 million left on his contract. He owes the Bengals the opportunity to get something substantial back in moving him. This is an ugly situation that the lockout is all but hiding right now. Yeah you do that (make the most of a trip) when you only have 2 scouts (and one works part time)
