Vick wouldn’t do ANYTHING he didn’t have to. Notice how he never goes to events? He WANTS to lay low (except on the field and in his bank). But he doesn’t have that option when it comes to speaking publicly about the evils of animal cruelty. he has to do it. No more, and no less a PR stunt than when he speaks at public schools abou the same things.

I also recognize that he probably didn’t come up with the idea of condemning this app all by himself. I’m guessing his agent or someone else heard about it, and the agent talked it over with Mike.

All that said, he’s doing the right thing here. This is vastly different from GTA or other shoot-em-ups, because dogfighting is not an over-the-top concept to many people like the GTA themes are. Vick was part and parcel to the glorification of a sickening industry of willful, sadistic, and cruel treatment of living beings, and at least he’s doing his part to perhaps de-glorify it a little bit.

I still don’t like you, Vick, but thanks for taking a step in the right direction.

baxman, it depends on how you measure popularity – some would say its how the fans vote for the Pro Bowl or whose jersey is the best seller – or by pure name recognition – either way Vick is right up there.

Not this person. He’s still only sorry he got caught. I loved it when he had to tell his kids they couldn’t have a dog because he fought dogs and a judge said he couldn’t own one. It made my day.

Get your interfering noses out of my business. I am quite capable of deciding all by myself which computer games are and are not suitable for me and/or my children without the morality police trying to get apps banned and so making my decision for me.

Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, ect… Hell, Brett Favre being retired (or not) are all still more popular than Vick. This is not a bash against his ability because at his best he can be unstoppable, but he is far from the most popular. Most controversial? Sure. But that’s a far cry from most popular. He’s more like the class clown. You’ll cheer when he pulls something off, but you’re just as likely to roll your eyes when he turns his back.
