Nah, I don’t worry about Saturdays once they get to the NFL. Harrison gets all the attention, but Clark is the one who actually leads with his helmet a lot of the time. I like his aggression and love hard-hitting football, but sometimes he’s the posterchild for spearing and that aggravates me … and it nearly cost us Ike Taylor in the playoffs when Clark missed his aim. He just needs to cut it out before he hurts himself or someone else.

Yes, Sweetie, and I’m just sure that’s gonna happen. The owners already take ONE BILLION DOLLARS off the top of the revenue pie before dividing up the rest of the billions with players. And that doesn’t include the billions they get from their stadium palaces that they don’t share with players or other others. Then there’s the millions they divide from the NFL Web site and network. Projected revenues going forward are astronomical, which is why the owners don’t want to share.

But you betcha. They’re just going to close for business, give up all those billions and billions of dollars, and go sit in the corner and suck their thumbs in a tantrum because the lockout was lifted … whaaaaa!

Contrary to the beliefs of some of you pro-owner guys who clearly will believe just about anything, the owners don’t run the NFL out of some benevolent desire to employ players and thrill fans. They do it because it is very very very profitable. And they’ll keep doing it for the same reason even if they don’t get their way in this labor dispute.

Can you dig it?

You want to see them start manufacturing players in China? Be careful what you wish for, you evil man. Karma has a way of coming back on people. You may wind up seeing your job outsourced instead.

And speaking of going … when the glorious day finally comes that the NFL rids itself of the scourge that is Roger Goodell (and both the pro-owner and pro-player factions should be anxious to get rid of that sorry excuse for a commissioner) … I hope he takes that miserable oaf Aiello with him.
