Getty ImagesNFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock appeared on PFT Live Wednesday, and was asked by Mike Florio whether he thought any of this year’s prospects could have a Tyson Alualu-like jump into the top-ten picks.
Mayock preferred to talk about possible sliders. The first name he spoke of was Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers.
“Bowers, man, he could have a long fall,” said Mayock, who also suggested Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley as a candidate to slip.
ESPN’s Todd McShay appeared on SportsCenter Wednesday and predicted the same for Bowers.
“Everyone I’ve talked to recently thinks he’s a one-contract player,” said McShay, referring to Bowers’ knee and the possibility of future microfracture surgery.
In ESPN’s beat writer mock, Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times selected Bowers for the Buccaneers at pick No. 20.
That’s exactly where we have Bowers in PFT’s final mock draft. But McShay went so far as to speculate Bowers could fall even further than that.

Please don’t fall to the Giants….. we love DE’s and we love injured players.
Vikings love to take chances on guys that others teams pass on. I hope he likes cold weather
Todd McShay, as well as Adam Sheffter, never in their life broke a sweat playing any decent level of football,..Adam has never even played flag football,..their opinions are meaningless.
I hope he free falls to Detroit in second round!I doubt it but nobody saw Clausen fallen taht far either.
Please fall to the Bills in the 2nd round.
would love to see him fall to the Texans in the second round
Why does anyone ask Mayock anything in regards to these athletes. The man only has four athletes he says anything positive about..Blaine, Marcel, Peterson, and A. J. And by now you all know why.
