APWe aren’t in the habit of posting other people’s mock drafts on PFT, but Rick “Goose” Gosselin isn’t any mock drafter. The longtime Dallas Morning News reporter routinely puts out the most well-researched and accurate mock drafts in the business.
That’s why his mock drafts are read around the league, and some of his predictions for Thursday’s unpredictable first round will make some waves across the league.
Gosselin thinks the quarterback frenzy will take place early in the round, rather than teams choosing to trade back into the first round. He predicts five quarterbacks off the board in the top 12 picks.
Blaine Gabbert falls to No. 7 to the 49ers in the mock, and then it really gets interesting. Gosselin has Jake Locker going No. 8 to the Titans, Christian Ponder being taken at No. 10 to Washington, and Andy Dalton going No. 12 to the Vikings.
That would be a run on quarterbacks unlike anything we’ve ever seen. And more and more folks are starting to believe it will happen.

This has less chance of happening than Albert Haynesworth winning a Medal of Freedom hand delivered from President Obama himself.
Opinions are like a**holes, and Cam Newton is the biggest opinion of them all.
“That would be a run on quarterbacks unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”
Well, there were 5 QBs taken in the top 12 in 1999.
and if one of the five is a star and one is just servicable that would be considered a good haul. which means that 3 teams will pay out the ass to find out that they have wasted their money. who says we don’t need a rookie cap????
If the draft goes anywhere near the way Rick “John” Gosselin predicts, I’ll be JimmySmith’s date for his meeting with dazdillinger.
Gosselin, you’re an idiot! Those five guys won’t all be picked in the first round! Locker maybe to only one outside of Newton (unfortunately) and Gabbert. Gabbert falling past the Bills and Bengals??? Ha
Thanks for the link. Apparently they want your first-born child in order to read the article.
Did you know in the last four years the Viking only had two first round picks? Those two picks went on to become Rookie of the Year. I hope they continue that trend.
Well we’ll know for sure in a few hours, no more relying on crystal balls!
I’ll be honest, when I saw the headline, I was thinking Kate Gosselin was making NFL draft predictions.
PAYWAAAAAALL!
Didn’t need one last year…
That’s Peter King reporting that one general manager says it will happen….which means in PK language that there’s a strong 40% possibility of it being more likely to happen than you probably think. With 5-2 odds, of course. He’ll bet you a latte that he buys with NBC’s money on it. If he doesn’t get shushed in the Quiet Car while trying to make the bet, obviously.

I don’t know if I agree with this comment, but it really made me laugh
there is zero chance…zero…of the 49ers taking Gabbert. he’s a less talented version of Alex Smith.
If that happened, which it won’t, then he should have made it 6 QB’s in the top 15 and included Miami taking Mallett or Kaep.

I really hope you are right mattsffrd. I will vomit with rage if my niners take gabbert. We already have a below average first round pick at qb we do not need another. Go defense, or WR, then trade for a veteren qb (orton). Next year trade the whole draft for Luck
this is so stupid. Its like a broken record. Every year QB’s freefall. QB’s much better than the likes of Andy Dalton, Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert. At the very most I see is 3 Qb’s going in round 1. The rest is pure smoke screen.
Are you sure that this wasn’t predicted by KATE Gosselin?
Ahh I was late on that one, props der6495
Where are all the “Gosselin is an idiot” people now? I love the internet.
