APWithin hours of the NFL telling teams they could begin to open their facilities to players, the Detroit Lions scheduled their first organized team activities of 2011.
The NFL agency X-A-M Sports, which represents at least one Lions player, spread the word on Twitter that Lions players have been told to report for a team meeting on Monday, and that OTAs will start on Wednesday.
Of course, it’s still possible that those OTAs will have to be canceled if the NFL wins its motion for a stay of the order ending the lockout. These are uncertain times in the NFL, and we’re all waiting to see what happens in the next few days.
But for now, the Lions are moving quickly to get back to work.

At least the Lions realize they need to get crackin’ as soon as possible!
great stuff, I like how the lions both players and staff have been classy throughout this whole thing, they seem set on working together as a team and improving.

I see this in every pft post now.
The NFL isn’t winning.
I think that every Owner should make it mandatory for every player to be a work 5 days a week 8 hours a day. Screw letting them have an off season. The players wanted to be let back in so now make them be there. They are employees and have no union to protect them.
11-5, and then a SUPERBOWL for the lions this season!! EMF yall!
This is not the Lions of OLD!!! Thank Mayhew, and Schwartz
yay Frist! Go Lions
Love seeing the work ethic outta my Lions…makes me feel like there’s reason to believe the winning trend will continue.
Got my cornbread and kool-aid chairside waiting for the draft to start!

Mlive.com has draft where Lions select Fairley? by thumbs up and down do u like that.
It’s the Lions. It won’t make any difference in Detroit.

I want them to trade back and accumulate picks also.
If they draft from 13, I hope they take the best DE or CB on their board. I think they can find a very solid starting OT in the second round…this is a deep draft with lots of talent after round 1.
FYI, going with the fruit punch kool-aid tonight!
OTAs begin next week. We’ll be working outdoors with three a day practices every day until the season starts. After the season starts, we’ll go down to two practices a day.
