They must have liked what they saw. In round five, the Jets picked Kerley.
The 5’9″ receiver-return specialist ran the 40 in 4.56 seconds at the Scouting Combine, which hardly constitutes sprinter’s speed. But the Jets liked him — and they got him.

He’s quicker than he is fast but he’s good on the slant and not afraid to go over the middle. He’s a matchup nightmare against LB and S.
Jet fans should hope he’s a bigger hit than Rex’s last 5th round pick, the (Preseason) “Terminator”.

The big thing is he has experience running the wildcat. Rarely passed but got about 2 rushes per game.
