I am reminded of Chris Rock’s rant about people wanting to be congratulated for “taking care of their kids” That is what you are supposed to do! Yes Osama deserved death and worse, we already know that! People always like to throw that quote. I first heard it on Around the Horn in a sad attempt to justify Vick’s winning of that Courage Award. The logic behind this quote is horribly flawed. It tries to take one narrow result of the situation and turn it into the total consequence. “Vick’s killing dogs, saved dogs in the future, thus it’s ok.” It’s often how war is justified too. “All those people died, but more would have died had we not gone to war.” In an acute sense, that may be true, but that doesn’t make the original actions any less tragic or disgusting.

What has be done? Told kids he would still be doing it if he hadn’t been caught. Vick said a month ago that he would do it all again.

It’s the same silly, senseless banter & hollow words all Vick supporters are famous for.

And WTF is this supposed to mean?

I’m not much of a MV fan off the field but I gotta say to all the haters out there Vick did his time and he knows a thing or two about being brought to justice. I’d swear PETA lovers are so delusional. What do you think Vick should have been executed too? I love animals and it makes it tough to accept a guy back after what he did, but he served his time; justice has been served. So drop the hate and lets play some football. Hopefully soon.

Hahaha, classic! I get a big chuckle everytime I read this kind of comment. I am certainly not anti Vick, I agree that he was punished, and we need to move on, but get your facts straight. Mike Vick never served one second in prison for killing dogs. He was never charged for killing dogs. He served time in prison for interstate gambling. I will give you that it was interstate gambling for dog fighting, lol, but he never served time for killing dogs. So the argument that he served his time for killing dogs is retarded at best…

Just making the observation that it always seems to be Steelers as of late (Big Ben, Harrison bashing the Prez, Mendenhall).

I remember being at the first Jets game after Keyshawn’s book came out. He was booed mercilessly in pregame intros, because he bashed Wayne Chrebet who was a fan favorite. He caught a 70 yard TD pass and was cheered wildly.

Players do and say stupid things. To pretend we’ll hold them accountable somehow is silly. Although I will say that the dog lovers here have come closest to any group I’ve ever seen – many still refuse to cheer Vick even post-Giants game.

I did not read through all 112 comments, but I hope someone else caught the part from the quote above where he said “What he so-called did”. What do you mean “so-called”? HE DID IT, HE CLAIMED IT. And yet Vick says “So-Called”?? Pick a side and stick to it Vick.

In case you haven’t noticed the price of gas lately I don’t think we have bombed any country for their oil. And if we have, I’d like to know where the hell it is.
