Rex Ryan, Rick Smith join PFT Live on Thursday

Jets coach Rex Ryan has been aggressively promoting his new book, Play Like You Mean It.  On Thursday, the campaign includes a visit to ProFootballTalk Live.

Starting at 12:00 p.m. ET on the nose, we’ll interview the man who has taken the Jets to the AFC title game in each of his first two seasons as a head coach.  And though, with the help of PFT Live producer and unabashed Jets fan Matt Casey, we’ve put together more questions than we could ever ask in the available time, we’re always looking for even better questions.

So send any questions you’d like to see asked, either for Ryan or for Texans G.M. Rick Smith, who isn’t selling a book (yet) but who will join us in the third segment of the show.

Watch at noon ET right here.

  1. rex, are your players going to toe the line with respect to the personal conduct policy during the lockout?

  2. rex, will woody johnson foot the bill for more free agents this offseason?

  3. What is your evaluation of some of the quarterbacks that went before your guy Greg McElroy – Newton, Locker, Gabbert, Ponder, Dalton, Kaepernick, Mallett, and Stanzi – and would you please do “Hard Knocks” again?

  4. Ask if he still thinks he could take Channing Crowder in a fight, if yes, can he take Ray Edwards in a fight?

  5. Wasn’t Joe Bracata a Jets fan also? How about getting him on the panel for some old school PFTV mayhem.

  6. Never mind the foot stuff. I would like to know if he is still looking for someone per the alt.com profile vis-a-vis his wife.

  7. Ask him how specifically he has developed as a HC these past 2 years (what he has learned basically) and what about the job most surprised him.

  8. How does anyone interested in working in the NFL get a foot in the door?

Also, Charlie Weis underwent life-threatening and almost fatal surgery in order to lose weight, thinking that he had to do it to be taken seriously as a head coaching prospect in the NFL. Was he right? Did Rex’s weight hold him back? Is he worried about gaining weight in the future, and how it might affect the public’s perception of him as a head coach of an athletic franchise?

  9. When will the Jets win an AFC East title again and why have they not won one yet with him(Rex) in charge?

  10. will you be playing footsies under the desk with Rex? Be careful, I bet he has Fred Flinstone feet.

Have you ever heard of Andy Reid?

  13. Rex is sure making the talk show circuit lately. Too bad he doesn’t have anything new to talk about.

  14. Was that new SONY Belichick was filming the interview with a Kraft purchase or did SONY donate for all the kool press BB got them? In the plagerized words of Belichick, “If ya aint cheatin, you aint tryin!”
