Days after the Buffalo Bills fired personnel man Tom Modrak, the team has made another front office move.

The team announced the promotion of Doug Whaley to Assistant General Manager/Director of Player Personnel, a position in which he’ll report to Executive V.P. and General Manager Buddy Nix.

Whaley joined the Bills in February of 2010. He has 16 years of NFL experience.

In his new capacity, Whaley will oversee both the college and pro personnel departments, conduct the team’s meetings leading up to the draft and scout players.

The team’s announcement said the Bills are continuing to re-evaluate and reorganize the personnel department.
