On a stretch of I-94 between Eau Claire and Tomah, an accident caused by a drunk driver blocked both southbound lanes and stopped traffic. i was one of the first there, so I got out to see if I could help. I recognized the vehicle that initiated the incident….. I was doing 65 and it blew by me fast enough that I didn’t even get the first number of the license plate. The drunk behind the wheel slammed into the back of a jeep pulled off on the shoulder, where he was helping the owner of the truck in front of him. I helped lift one end of that jeep off the ground so that the guy could pull a 10-year-old girl in a pick jacket out from underneath it. She had yet to move or make a sound when the road was cleared and we were told to move along, although the former Army medic tending her was certain she was still alive and was calling in a medi-lift.

I dare you to spout that BS after going through something like that. But maybe you would. In which case, I encourage you to drive 100 MPH while drunk. Please, do us all a favor, before you reproduce. In fact, I’ll even suggest the road. Try Mn-61 along the north shore of Lake Superior. Little traffic to get in your way, and lots of steep cliffs just off the edge of the road. Have fun.
