Hines Ward thought he was on Punk’d

Super Bowl XLV Getty Images

So what was Steelers receiver Hines Ward thinking when cops ordered him out of a car in which he was riding at gunpoint?

He thought he was the victim of a gag.

Said, to TMZ:  “I actually thought I was on ‘Punk’d’. . . .  Something about guns pointed at me wasn’t very fun.”

It’s still a lot more fun than having those guns actually fire.

Good answer. I’ve never seen Punk’d. Do they point guns at people often?

sorry lil fella. you news to be alittle more than a minor celebrity to get on there. being a Steeler is probable cause and he was trying to keep his city safe by keeping you out of it.

Being profiled isn’t cool at all. No one likes being treated like a criminal, especially if they are innocent. This stuff goes on all the time, especially with black males.

    great article.

I wish a 230 lb. cop would have blind-sided him in his head from a full sprint and then just stood over Hiney Wart and smiled.

Cops are always so quick to point guns at black people. If he were a white guy dressed in a suit he wouldn’t have even been pulled over.

I am glad he is keeping a sense of humor about the whole thing. NOT blowing something out of proportion does not seem like an act for which you should be commended. But in this day and age, I guess you have to take what you can get.

What’s really funny is how all the ignoranus people want to turn it into a black/white issue without knowing every detail. Can’t we move forward eventually?

Hey Hines Ward, when was the last time you saw Punk’d on tv? Cause I haven’t seen it in YEARS. And you’re not relevant enough to be on Punk’d anyway, that’s above you, like Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan territory.

To those idiots trying to make this a race issue:
He was in a vehicle that was reported stolen. I dont care if there was a girraffe behind the wheel, this is a felony traffic stop and guns are ALWAYS drawn on a felony traffic stop. Have you noticed that Hines is trying to play a Victim here? Its pretty pathetic that people try to use their race as a crutch and claim discrimination everytime something unfortunate happens to them. Stop acting like a victim

We we really going to turn this into black vs white? The car was reported as stolen and she was too stupid to admit she just forgot where she parked. End of story.

  16. muhangis says: May 9, 2011 12:05 AM

Yeah I’ve seen them point guns at ppl all the time on punked?! #2. You’re not hardly that big of a celebrity, Hines.

  17. muhangis says: May 9, 2011 12:08 AM

No. 3 Now we see that it was all a show put on by Hines.

FYI Hines doesn’t read your comments. But you sure told him what life is all about. IF he saw your posts, man he would be put right in his place.

If Carson Palmer browses PFT why don’t you think Whines Ward would also?

  22. espnfeedback says: May 9, 2011 12:13 PM

Looking down the barrel of a gun when you’re a completely innocent law abiding citizen and you or noone associated with you has behaved or presented a threat to the person holding that gun with the menacing barrel is something that should be accepted as no big deal…huh?

kyleortonsarm is our Jimmy Smith … except Jimmy Smith is a Pack fan making loopy comments on Vikes threads, which makes more sense.

That means our nut is nuttier than Jimmy Smith. Wow.
