Saw the story on Today, where there was no mention of a previous suspension and my reading skills weren’t required. Didn’t bother reading anymore here than was necessary to discover you’re an ass. The prior suspension may change how I’d view his situation … but not yours.

See, this is the problem with the lack of seriousness our enabled students have these days. If you had paid attention in English class you would have seen that he was ALREADY suspended from school BEFORE posting the cardboard message. Any/all school systems DO NOT allow suspended students back on school grounds until their suspension is over. Obviously, reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

I wrote my post knowing that it wouldn’t be popular but at the same time knowing the being right isn’t always popular.

I know you guys are big time left wingers but, I rather politcians waste time on this kind of topic instead of making new laws, new taxes, and new wars. Let them tackle the BCS next!

It is hard enough to run a classroom WITHOUT the media getting involved. This school had every right to enforce their policy to help the teachers maintain a peaceful learning environment for the other students but nobody thinks about that. People just think about how bad it is for us to hold these children accountable for their actions.

The media, and all of you commenting against the school, are enabling these children and reinforcing their entitled/poor behavior. Force these kids to be accountable for their actions.

This is by far the dumbest post I’ve read on this site in a long time, which is really saying something.

Maintaining a peaceful learning enviroment? An egregious offense? Are you serious?

Do you even know the facts of this story?

Somehow, I don’t think a kid posting cardboard letters on the outside of the school disrupted the classroom environment. Or makes him a menace to society. Or traumatized his classmates.

I guarantee that I know more about running a classroom/school than you do, and if a kid TAPING CARDBOARD LETTERS to the OUTSIDE of the school is the worst thing I had to deal with, then I would be very happy.

What Orlovsky wanted to say was that the school’s treatment of the student was “way out of bounds.” Fortunately, he caught that slip of the tongue.

I don’t know. We have a $1.5 trillion deficit because of the laws our federal legislature has passed. Connecticut is always one of the top states in per capita debt. Maybe this is a better use of their time.

Probably the first time this statement has been used.
