My opinion is simply that regardless of the yardstick used to measure overall success—SB wins, championship wins, regular or postseason record, 3x AP NFL Coach of the Year, 5x SB Champion, All-Decade Team, etc.—any objective observer would be hard pressed to argue that Belichick is NOT No. 1.

No one is stopping them from getting a job, let them go out and pound the pavement like so many others who have been out of work for for a year or more.

Not that I’d like to debate that Belichick isn’t one of the best coaches in the league, and perhaps the aforementioned post was a bit too much, but ESPN is hardly a source to rank anyone – especially when it’s opinion based. Fact is, other coaches have won Superbowls after BB did, and he hasn’t done anything of significance in the playoffs lately.

That being said, I’d hire him in a second – just that he’s not the most successful coach in the last 8 years or so (are we going by overall wins, or Superbowl victories?).

I’d also like to add that, anyone who accuses the Patriots of cheating should look at their own clubs. 1 of 32 isn’t the only team that potentially “cheats”. I’m sure Rex Ryan has spoken to Sanchez and company since the lockout has begun.

So, obviously they have already made one example, though not taking away draft picks or anything of the sort. Nonetheless, it is still a recognizable punishment & “example made” of a team “CHEATING”.

More towards the point of your blurb, the NFL is going to have a hard time punishing teams for contacting players, aka “CHEATING”. The league & the shamwow union are cheating its business partners, affiliates, sponsors, season ticket/PSL owners, Sunday Ticket subscribers, US Cities, the court system, fantasy football sites & players, broadcasting stations, & the most obvious…… FANS. Are we really to be outraged by the team staffs, whose pay was just cut due to the ignorance of the league as a whole, for contacting players to assist them in preperation for the season? I think the only Cheaters in the grand scheme of it all is the Owners, the Players UNION, & each of their complete teams that keep this process ongoing.

That way, the sports columnists can be satisfied and we will not need a new cba because there will be no one to participate in the NFL /sarcasm

Also do NFL representatives frequent these areas, because maybe they can bump into the players and they can fix this mess?
