We mentioned earlier this offseason that the Packers would have a decision to make on Ryan Grant when the lockout ends, because he has a roster bonus early in the league year and a reasonably high salary.

We guessed back then the decision would not be a difficult one, with Grant likely to stay. Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay-Press Gazette writes that “all signs” point to Grant returning to the squad.

Packers brass have openly said Grant and James Starks will share the workload. Rookie third-round pick Alex Green could be the third down back, and it’s possible the team will re-sign Brandon Jackson.

Grant is set to make $5.25 million in the final year of his contract. 2011 may be his final season in Green Bay, but that’s a fair number to pay a player with his talent and experience when you are gunning for a Super Bowl repeat.
