This is all just a bunch of hog wash!. De Mo is a naturally born idiot and needs to be replaced. He is a typical union moron hell bent on destroying another company. I sincerely hope both the players and the owners get their differences settled and get this thing over with so we will have meanigful football this year.

Funny thing is Mike…..you have been the most vocal of the people pushing to end this lockout and play football without regard to its effect on the long-term interests of the game.

Of course, that was when the players had the leverage. Now that the NFL has the leverage, you are sing a different tune. HHmm….tell me you aren’t biased.

I hope the league treats the players fair. It is obvious that they were mislead by D Moron Smith . Some of us saw this instantly.That being said ….come on league lets do the right thing for the players and be fair. Thousands of satisfied employees accross our country make business grow and prosper. Lets be fair, it will only make things better for both sides.

BlahhhhhhhArrrrrrrrrrgh, Who cares, a deal will get done, before the season starts, just a matter of 2 days from now or 2 Mths. from now. Too much to lose on both sides. Frankly, The Wheels on this Drama Bus fell off a long time ago for me. Really how many times can anyone take looking at DeMocheese and his pimp hats, and Godell and his perfect hair and superanal uptight mannerisms. Tired of hearing about Judge dookie, judge Judy, blah blah. Sp F U – NFLPA, NFL, CBA, PFT, R2D2, LBJ, Wake me up when the season starts, until then I will enjoy spending time outdoors with my family while attempting to pay my bills week to week as these D-bags figure out how to split the billions.

There’s still time to muck about with the process. Things will turn bad if this resolved at a time that causes games to be cancelled. The season ticket holders have already payed for the upcoming season. I could see a class action suit against the NFL in such circumstances. So as the players and owners continue with their Johnson measuring contest, all both sides are doing is pissing everyone off!

Sorry, the players are greedy.

I understand businessmen needing X amount of return on Investment.

Players do not have to play football. Yes, they can get hurt, but it is their CHOICE to play. There are thousands of other careers that they can take up.

It is getting real boring listening to athletes who are millionaires constantly complain, calling Roger Goodell a variety of names. How about if you did not have football? How about if you made what the guys in the 60′s and 70′s made?

The owners have been very fair the last 5 years and have made many players rich. This game constantly marked by players “retiring” at age 35? Golfing and signing autographs forever forward?

Sure, the average player’s career is what 4-5 years? Well, they make more money than plenty of President’s and VP’s. Many just because they are born fast. It is all so old.

I say shut it down for a year. Come talk to us in June of 2012.

The fact is that Smith is an ambulance chaser who only knows how to file law suits,and he is even a failure at that,since the court of appeals has now told him he has lost and will lose even worse on June 3rd !!!
The players can get a good deal done now,probably about the same deal they could have had 2 Months ago if they had not walked out of the negotiations. If they wait until the Eighth Circuit rules totally against the players (Smith) on June 3rd,the players may not be able to get as good a deal as the owners are willing to give them now.
The owners have said they wanted a fair deal through negotiations from day one and have never altered their stance ,even through all the garbage we have seen from the union idiots. I have more respect for the owners now than ever before,I don’t know if I would have been so easy on the union if I were an owner and I had the upper hand as they do.

Better negotiate in earnest for the first time Mr. Smith,or risk getting crushed.(oh,too late,it’s already over for you ! ).,

They tried that with the 2006 CBA, but the union did a sham decertification and had certain players file suit.

No where in your post did I see that D. Smith was ready to negotiate.

Your post just said the players said: “The players are in mediation and are working to try to save the 2011 season. The court will hear the full appeal on June 3.”

In other words, D. Smith wants more litigation.

If the NFL and owners were so bad, they (1) would not have agreed to the 2006 CBA which was too one sided towards the players, and (2) would not make an offer now. The TRUTH is that the owners want a fair deal, but D. Smith does not.

FACT: D. Smith walked out of CBA negotiations, decertified the union, had certain players file suit, did not attend at least one of the court ordered mediation sessions, and now does not encourage any players to attend mediation.

Fans, players, and PFT employees that really want football need to tell D. Smith to get his butt into negotiations.

Alright players – while I’m hesitant to say I’ve been on your “side”, I’ve definitely understood where you’re coming from and why you pursued the course of action that you did. That said, it looks like you’re about to get spanked by the court so while you gave it a go – your attempt at gaining leverage in these negotiations seems to have failed. So get it done. Stop screwing around and get it done!!!

The players are not going to get what they want & may be worse off than they would have been just agreeing to the terms of the current agreement.

The court system has given the owner’s clear leverage. The owner’s intent from the onset was to significantly alter the pre-existing CBA (loose translation, “crush” the players). I would suspect the players should now be prepared to grab their ankles and I do not expect ownership will have the courtesy to use lubricant.

Two things should be happening in short order:
1.) The end of the lockout because the players have no leverage or water-wings.

2.) The end of the short, tumultuous and exceedingly inefficient tenure of D. Smith a NFLPA head. They need a negotiator not a litigator as their lead.
