They did last year and will again this year. Sorry but Jared Allen is one of the most overrated players in the league today. He was nothing last year until the final weeks. He is only good against backup offensive lineman and two years ago half of his sacks came in two games against the same backup offensive tackle and only got 7 sacks in the 14 other games.

Phantomstranger - is Jared Allen still playing? Didn't hear his name last year.
Mesoornery - Packers continue to do good works around the country, which is why there are so many Packer fans everywhere. When the Packer Tailgate Tour came through Eau Claire, the players not only went to the event they were compensated for attending - which raised money for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, they also visited cancer patients at a hospital and then stopped at a high school in a nearby small town to talk about stopping bullying. Maybe those kids will grow up and not make fun of the Vikings. Anyway, couldn't be prouder of 98% of the guys on this team. (Underwood...nooo.)

Two more Rodgers concussions? You mean like 15 more players on IR? Hahaha - you desperate Packers haters are the funniest people. So like, did you keep the Steelers hat and shirt that you bought to wear during the Super Bowl, LOL? Worked out great for ya, I see. Four middle fingers at you - Ted, Mike, Aaron, and mine.

Please send me a video of you and your desperate Packer-hating friends watching the Packers win the Super Bowl - I'd love to see your sad, disappointed faces. Send to: yourteamsucks@fu*kyou.com, LOL.

It was Wolf himself that said he didn’t give Favre enough weapons. Early in his career Favre made average receivers better then they were. He never had the big time guy like a Jerry Rice. Later he just threw the ball up and didn’t really give a crap who caught it.
-------------------------

You remember Sterling Sharpe? He was one of the top 3 recievers in the league before his career ending injury. Favre never made Sharpe look better than he played. He had excellent years prior to Favre. The only difference is Favre would throw ONLY to Sharpe before his injury. Ironically, the injury forced Favre to become a better QB - in '95 he actually started throwing to all the receivers rather than just the #1 or the RB

Can't wait to watch Rodgers roll out and pick and choose where to throw a rope about 25 yards down the field that is almost unstoppable with a healthy Offense.

Whenever the season starts should be enjoyable to watch.

Oh and the Lions wills still not make the playoffs!

Another factor to consider as to how good the D was is that the Pack did not lose a game by more than 6 points all of last year....I would be curious to know what was the biggest margin they were down by last year.

I think 2 loses were last second field goals and another 2 on overtime field goals.

Given the fact as to how banged up the Offense was and that we had no run game I would say good draft TT.

When you take into otehr factors their Defense was fricking ridiculous last year.

The Packer's team needs were not outside linebacker, not defensive end. While Ted could have and would have drafted those positions if the board fell the right way, he drafted need at tackle, return man, and change of pace back to replace Brandon Jackson.
The media's contention that there was great need at linebacker was not shared by Thompson. He let Kampy go at a time when he only had Brady Popinga as an experienced replacement.
They were never focused on a pass rushing linebacker, and one didn't fall to them.

Seemed like since that unbelievable Rams loss, Favre just kept costing the Pack at the absolute worst moments during the absolutely most important games.

After the Rams game, I would watch games just waiting for when he would do something completely bone headed. I always felt like the Pack were more likely to lose any game they got into than win. It was like not being able to depend on him anymore.
Favre did wonderful things for the Pack. I'm not trying to be hateful toward him.

I agree with the Pittsburgh poster, classy posting by the way. I don't fear Rodgers making stupid mistakes, and yet he can make huge plays. He's a playmaker but he's smart about it. Hopefully he starts being smarter about when to slide when he's running. He makes mistakes, sure, but overall I feel like the Pack can win any game they get into.

Having an awesome defense helps a lot, too. I think they live up to the stats and rep as a great defense. They played behind the 8-ball at times last year and came up big.
]
This d@mn lockout mess screws everything up. I was really looking forward to watching what these guys can do to follow up last year's amazing season.

It’s a beatiful thing. The rich just keep getting richer. Meanwhile the T-Wolves have the highest chance of all teams to get the #1 overall draft pick…and come in 2nd.

It’s like MN sports are cursed or something…

Yes, Carl. They are cursed. But we still love them. I only hope that tackle the Packers picked in the first round can keep Jared Allen off A-Rodg or his career is going to end early due to all the concussions.

JUDAS was given plenty of weapons.

He consistently threw his WRs and TEs into danger throughout his career.

He was always one to draw a play out, so he could showcase his arm strength. If it resulted in a receiver being led into traffic, well that was just, "JUDAS bein' JUDAS..."

Guys like Brees, Manning and Rodgers are more interested in getting the ball to their guy in a position to make a play.

"You mean like Brooks, Bennett, Rison, Beebe, Freeman, Chumara, Keith Jackson, Driver…etc etc."

You forgot Ahman Green who only holds the franchise record for rushing yards. Plus, Wolf got them Clifton, Tauscher, Rivera, Wahle, and Flanigan giving them one of the best offensive lines over a several year period. That offense was pretty stacked for much of Favre's career in GB.

The problem with Favre was the gambling. You put up with the bad plays because he would make 10 other good plays to make up for it. In all of those famed "4th quarter comebacks" how many were necessitated because of an earlier Favre mistake? I'd be willing to bet quite a few. At the end of the day, the good would outweigh the bad and the Packers would end up with 10-12 wins per season. The problem with that is that often the bad Favre plays came in the playoffs when you don't get a chance to say, "We'll get it next time."

As much as he's angered me over the past 3 years, there's no doubt that Favre is the greatest regular season QB of all time. As we like to remind Viking fans, they don't hand out Lombardi trophies for good regular seasons which is why you can't put Favre ahead of Starr, Montana, Brady, and all the guys that got multiple rings. Rodgers will never catch Favre's regular season numbers. His legacy will depend on the post season. So far, so good.
