This is ridiclulous.
How can it be a huge win for anyone if the other guy has yet to cash his ticket?
Nate Solder may become a good player, may become a great player or may end up a complete bust. No one knows cuz he has yet to play a down while Seymour's played 32 games in Oakland. But should Solder hit, N.E.'s got a LT for the next decade. Then, barring an Oakland Super Bowl win, which ain't gonna happen, how are you gonna feel about that trade in 2 or 3 years?

I'm happy for Raiders fans....they have had a rough go of it for a long time...I'm glad a Patriot player could bring them a smile or two....
I'm happy we were able to get nate Solder as a result of that trade instead of just losing him to free agency & getting a 3rd round compensatory pick...I mean he was gone after the 09 season for sure so we only lost out on his services for 1 year to get the 1st rounder....Getting Nate with the Raiders #17 spot allowed the patriots to trade away their #28 pick for the Saints 1st rounder next year & the Saints 2nd rounder this year as well(Shane Vareen) which they could never have done without the raiders pick....SOOOOOOOOOOOO it looks like we not only got Nate, we got a stud RB as well & an additional 1st rounder next year all as a result of the seymoure trade....not bad Bill, not bad at all....trading Seymoure is the gift that just keeps on giving.....

"He didn't leave New England via free agency to chase a bigger payday in Oakland."

Wow bmiller1360. Read carefully. He didnt leave New England via free agency. pretty straight forward and thats the first part of the sentence. He sure as hell wasnt chasing a big payday either. He got one, but one thing non-raider fans dont know is Al Davis rewards those who he feels are the face of the franchise.

I like these jealous little weasels who throw their 2 cents in trying to make a point, and it just comes out like banter from a 10 year old bully. Too bad its gonna be the Raiders being the bully this year bud.

Seymour is a star. A top 10, possibly top 5 of all defensive players in the league. And he's footing the bill? Dont talk about washed up, cuz Seymour is legit, and the only reason you're commenting is because Seymour isn't on your team. GO RAIDERS!!!

The Raiders made a smart signing of a veteran free agent.
The Pats lost 1 year of a great player for a 1st this year = Nate Soldar.

I wish the Pats could have kept Seymour but they always max out the cap so it would mean losing a lot of other players, or at least Vince Wilfork,

There are more of these guys than the ones spending the time partying, if the media would only report on it more. Bad boys sell papers and get internet clicks I guess.

Nice story, though. Props to Seymour.

and the only reason it’s not one-sided towards Oakland
------------------------------------------------
anybody that really knows football knows the raiders and Mr Davis is a mastermind.
I much rather have a guy who is the best D line man in the NFL or some OT the pats took in the first round.
Nobody is goin to beat the raiders this year, They will be champs

Let me see, I trade a Perennial Pro Bowl Beast DT/DE to the Raiders and wait 2 full years to before I can Draft a Nate Soldat? lol Ranked by many to be the 6th best at his position. Sad part for New England will be when Seymour Retires a Raider. Huge win by Oakland with this Trade.

Hey can you give me the names of the 2 first round picks New England drafted with the 2 number ones Al Davis sent New England for Mike Haynes?, I did not think so.

Throw in Al Davis picking New England's pockets on the Burgess Trade, how is he working out for you all. You do have the Moss Trade but to me I was just happy to see the Punk go.

Seymour is hosting a mini camp complete with all the fixings, this is not some guys passing the ball around in some parking lot, Al Davis and the Raiders made out like a Bandit on the Seymour Trade, I hear Soldat may not even play this year, wow, wait 3 years for a who? handing a Stud over to the Raiders and from the looks of New England's pass rush the past couple years looks like they miss Seymour.

Seymour single-handedly turned that defense and entire team around. He gave them the spark they needed. Everyone thought that was the most ridiculous trade ever when it happened, even Seymour himself. He's really embraced them team since. I think they'll be on the good side of .500 this season, if there is one.
