I’m guessing that is the case. Anything he says could cost him money in endorsements. As it is, people don’t really associate Manning with this mess as his name doesn’t come up at all. If you are a named defendant you should be publicly available to comment on the case at least once a week. After all, you felt strongly enough to put your name on the suit, own up to it.

Did I miss something??? Isn’t Manning one of the most frequently interviewed NFL players today? I think he does an impromtu on-field postgame interview after every game… followed by speaking at the podium after ever game too.

Also, has spoken at hundreds of charity events and donated over $5 million of his own money to a childrens hospital in Indy (without media presence)…

Considering the basic point of the article is “Star QB wants to maintain his privacy durring offseason”, and not “Another NFL Player calls himself a ‘slave’ or “another NFL player arrested for DUI”, I don’t understand why the need to take cheap shots like”bitter beer Manning face” etc…

Finally, but you need to take out the word “possibility” and replace it with the word “fact”.

I don’t blame Manning for not talking to the press though he should not have put his name on the suit. Who would want to be associated with this mess?

FACT: D. Smith walked out of CBA negotiations, decertified the union, had certain players file suit, and then did not attend at least one court ordered mediation session.

Fans, players, and PFT employees that treally want football need to tell D. Smith to get his butt into negotiations.

Just look at the way some of dumber members of this site react to anything he says – now imagine the responses of those of us who can tie our own shoes when someone of his fortune tries to talk about injustice.
