Those who think the NFL is so broken may get their wish. The antitrust exemption is the one thing that makes the game so watchable, week after week.
The owners want a permanent pass on future antitrust claims, while players are not likely to surrender that ammunition. That’s way more significant than a lost paycheck…and a clear sign that this thing is going to drag out a lot longer than people think.
