I've been a Packer fan since 1993 and I can say without a hint of doubt that the 4th & 26 game was BY FAR the hardest to swallow. I was in attendance at the '07 NFC Championship and while it stung, it didn't come close to the '03 loss. You have to look at the circumstances surrounding that game. Favre's father died and the team and fans rallied around him. Never have I felt so close to a player or a team. Then, in week 17 the Cardinals beat the Vikings with the clock showing 00:00 to put us in the playoffs. In the WildCard round is the famous "We want the ball and we're gonna score" game. I was never so sure a team was going to win the Super Bowl as I was in '03. We had a 14-0 lead in that game and lost the way we did... I considered never watching football again.

In no particular order:

2007 NFC Title Game: Favre looking like he didn’t want to be playing in the cold:

Favre 6 INT’s vs the Rams in the 2001 NFC Divisional Playoffs Game

4th and 26-also in the same game, Favre throwing INT to help set up game winning FG

Sterling Sharpe’s career ending neck injury

1995 NFC Title Game loss at Dallas after leading in the 4th quarter

Mike Sherman as GM

Defense in 2009 NFC Wild Card Game at Arizona

Super Bowl 32 loss vs Denver

The loss at San Francisco in 1998 Wild Card Game-Catch II and Rice non-fumble

2004 NFC Wild Card Game-getting spanked at home by Vikes and Moss mooning Packer fans

2002 NFC Wild Card Game loss to Falcons and Vick

Favre’s 29 INT’s in 2005

Favre’s 2 wins as Viking vs the Packers in 2009-got payback last year

Big Ben defeating Pack at home w/TD pass with no time left on the clock in 2009

Drafting Mandarich instead of other future Hall of Famers

Lindy Infante’s run run pass punt offense

Drafting Justin Harrell

Getting shutout at home vs Pats in 2006

I don't know why people still mention Mandarich. If the Packers had drafted say, Barry Sanders, then they just become the 90s Lions. 9-7 one year, 7-9 the next. Infante and Braatz hang on to their jobs longer (like Wayne Fontes). Wolf probably ends up as GM elsewhere. No Holmgren, Favre, White, etc.

1. Fourth and 26- So many oppurtunitys to win that game and blew them all. Dont forget that the Packers also had a first in goal at the 1 yard line and the Eagles put up a goal line stand. That would have been the winning score. I get sick when i her people say Darren Sharper is a great player when all I see is him 5 yards away from that bum Freddie Mitchell.

2. Loss to Giants in NFC Championship- I was happy when Brett retired after that game. Thats when it became apparent the Packers would never win another championship with him.

3. Wild card loss to San Francisco- Jerry Rice fumbled that ball!!! Oh well The Pack has beat up San Fran so much it almost felt like it was a Charity win.

4. Loss to Denver in Super Bowl- Sucked at the time but the fact that Denver repeated the next year and almost went undeafeted eased the pain a little. Realized that they probably shouldnt have been so much of an underdog. Plus Pack had a lot of turnover in players that year. Sean Jones Keith Jackson Desmond Howard Andre Rison

My List:
1. XXXII - What a kick in the nads. Seeing Elway's helicopter & Terrell Davis' migraine story still makes me nauseous.
2. The Favre Schism - Civil war among Packer fans.
3. Jerry Rice's catch - Really was the start of a slow, painful downward spiral for the franchise. Thankfully AR and TT were able to pull us out of it.
4. Falcons Playoff Game - That's when it really hit home that we were no longer an elite team.
5. Favreageddon I - Had we not spanked them twice this year (ok, once - the first game was close) this would be higher. At the time, it was a devastating loss.

The Denver loss was definitely number one. The main reason that still sticks with me is that Denver got busted for cheating the salary cap that year (as well as the following year). They were fined a million dollars and a third round pick for cheating in each of their Super Bowl winning years, but the Bronco players all said it was well worth it (no kidding). A lot of people didn't know about that.

Don't worry, they'll look great against the garbage offense in the AFC north, make the play-offs and get torched by New England or if they luck out and don't have to face them either GB or N.O. in the Super Bowl will show how over rated that D is.

I can recall entering a convenience store following the Packers' Super Bowl loss to Denver and observing not sadness but numb resignation on the faces of fans.

They were apathetic because the Packers were apathetic. Holmgren spent the entire week wallowing in speculation about becoming the Seahawks' savior--even though he was still under contract for another year.

Gabe Wilkins refused to play on a twisted knee because it might jeopardize his opportunity for a huge free agency contract.

The game itself was a virtual replay of a debacle against the hapless Colts earlier in the season.

Ultimately, we tipped our hats to Elway and the Broncos because they wanted it more than our guys did.

"i still think the worst thing in the team’s history, was the fans attributing all the success the packer had in the 90′s to one guy (free-agency had a lot to do with it),"

Agreed. It is annoying how people automatically assume it was all Favre when the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI when actually Ron Wolf should get most of the credit. He was the one who hired Holmgren, traded for Favre, signed White among other things.

Signing Cletidus Hunt and Joe Johnson to big contracts should have been in there.

Seriously though, the 2002 loss to the Falcons should have been on there. The air came out of that team really fast starting when idiot Sharper tried to run an INT out of the back of the endzone in the second to last game of the year versus Buffalo. The Packers lose the next week to the Jets and in the process lose the bye and the #1 seed via a three way tiebreaker.

The Falcons got up big thanks to some big ST plays, and then the Packers were forced to try to come back with a really banged up O. Green, Davenport, Glenn, and Driver were all hurt in the first half IIRC. That meant the Packers had rookie Javon Walker and the likes of Karsten Bailey, Tyrone Davis, and Eric Metcalf taking snaps.

Then for the kick in the nuts, even when the Packers moved the ball Longwell was missing the FGs.
