Just three months after suffering a collapsed lung after getting stabbed, Redskins receiver Brandon Banks is back on the football field.
Banks estimated to Ryan O’ Halloran of CSNWashington.com estimated that he’s 90% healthy, because he needs to knock some rust off his knees and back. He reportedly looked speedy at the players-only workouts Wednesday and credits his background for helping him to move past the stabbing.
“I’ve been in tough situations before,” he said. “I’ve lost loved ones. I’ve been hurt before. I’ve been in troubling situations before. It’s another hurdle to jump. Hopefully, I don’t have to jump another hurdle.”
The next challenge for the 155-pound receiver will be to make the Redskins roster. Even though Washington added three rookies at the position, Banks looks like a good bet to stick around because of his huge return value.
