If you look at Eli and Phil Simms stats side by side they are really pretty similar. And actually you would have to face facts and call Eli the better QB, statistically anyway. Phil never had better than a 62% completion percentage. And the most TDs Phil got in a year was 22, Eli got 31. By the way, both years that Phil got 22 TDs he got 20 and 18 INTs as well.

And to the people that say Eli had the best WR corp last year, did you even watch any of the games?!? His WRs were rotating all year, and they were picking guys up off the street!

The Giants pass over 60% of the time. Gilbride switched them from a ground and pound team into a pass happy team. He has one of the best group of WR’s in the league.

It’s not how many yards gained that matters. It’s WHEN those yards are gained that matters. Since 2007 Eli routinely chokes at clutch time.

His interceptions have increased every season. QB’s are suppose to get smarter as they age. Not him. But his apologists always point fault at the receivers or the coach for Eli’s ints.

Don’t be stupid. Eli has had better statistical numbers in almost every category since 2007. Yes his interceptions were up last year, but that’s understandable with the injuries to the O-line and WRs last year. Do you recognize names like Derek Hagan and Duke Calhoun? No? Then shut it!

Eli got lucky in 2007 maybe a better stat for a Giants fan would be that you had the worst reg season record and won a SuperBowl.

He was pretty horrible in 2008 and 2009 you know, making the pro bowl in 2008 and throwing for 4000 yards and 27 TDs with a very young receiver corps in 2009. Even in his worst year since 2007, 2010, he threw for over 4000 yds and 31 TDs and 8 INTs were balls tipped by his own players with many other awful routes being run. I am not even a huge fan of Eli and constantly find myself yelling at the TV at some of his on-field decision, but he has been on of the more consistent QBs for the past 4 years. You are just an idiot.

That’s funny, considering Eli has had the 3 highest QB ratings of his career in 2008, 2009, and 2010, all at 85 or above. Not great, but certainly not horrible.

What do if I’m Giants:

-Keep Bradshaw/Jacobs, or cut both and sign DeAngelo Williams. Bradshaw cannot be lone back in offense.
-Resign Smitty, and Boss. We really don’t need Kiwi considering our plethora of DEs, and Cofield while awesome, will get paid too much.
-Sign playmaking LB like Ruud.
-Take BACK NY?? The Giants are still the more popular team, and unless the Jets win anything, that isn’t going to change.

Reese is the most overrated GM in the game today. Biggest needs entering the draft were Center, Left Tackle, Outside Linebackers, and Defensive Tackle. He waited until Round 2 to pick the DT, and Round 4 to take a string bean of a Tackle.

We also had question marks at RB [as your article stated], yet he waited until Round 7 to take one.

Boss is our only real TE. Can’t let him go.

Hate to say it but this team will be lucky to finish 8-8 this season. If there is a season.

BTW, Eli is the most overrated QB in the league. He can’t run either, which spells trouble for him with our leaky and wimpy offensive line.
