Gruden is content to continue collecting the Glazer’s Tampa Bay money on top of his fat ESPN contract. If I remember my numbers correctly, the man is pulling in over $10 million per season (combined Tampa/ESPN money), and he’s going to give all of that up to coach a college team that could be faced with investigation and/or a continuing scandal?

Not a chance.

This is what will happen, it’s predictable and boring and was always the plan from the day Gruden was canned by the Bucs; Johnny will provide commentary for MNF (assuming of course there is a season of games to be analyzed), collect his Tampa Bay money and pick his coaching spot for the following season. From there, Gru will ink a big money contract and hopefully will be able to co-exist with his GM, which for his sake will not be Bruce Allen. If he ends up re-united with Allen, in four or five years we can watch this entire process repeat itself – what fun!
