Reid has been a master at getting more out of players than is warranted by their talents. Mitchell was in the league longer than he deserved. The proof is simply to look at his career after the Eagles.
Further support for this argument is Donovan McNabb. Reid made D-Mac look like a star, now that he doesnt have Reid there to cover up his difficiencies, …well Rex Grossman beat him out for the QB job.

Freddy should be thanking Andy Reid for stupidly drafting him in the first round, resulting in a contract far greater than that which he deserved.

I am thankful for this article, though. It caused me to search his Wikipedia page and learn that he appeared appeared on Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker”.

That made my day.

Yeah it was Donovan’s fault you couldn’t get open and had 0 speed. We all know McNabb wasn’t the most accurate passer but come on Freddy, there’s a reason you didn’t get the ball then and why you were out the league shortly after being released. YOU WEREN’T AS GOOD AND YOU THINK YOU WERE.

Having said that, Reid is going to do what’s best for the Eagles regardless of what anyone says. We saw that last year when he said McNabb was his QB and he traded him. Then he said Kolb was his QB after Vick spear headed a comeback against the Packers where Kolb looked awful and then 2 very good games by Vick. What happens next, Kolb is benched. Then he said McDermott was the DC…. shortly thereafter he gets canned too. So Reid will do what he thinks is best for him and the team. Period. I’m not so sure that any other coach wouldn’t make decisions based on what’s best for the team. If they did, they probably won’t be coaching that long.

Steve Smith – 3rd round
Chris Chambers – 4th round
TJ Houshmanzadeh – 7th round

To focus a little Freddy’s point, Kolb knows all too well not to trust King Andy. After Kolb’s concussion in Game 1, King Andy promised him he would not loose his job to injury. Guess what. He did. To an (at the time, and perhaps current) unproven Vick.

So let’s recap what happened to the QB of the future after one game as starter. One-half of terrible football + a concussion + assurance not to loose starting job = benching for the rest of the season.

Time’s yours (pass me the burgers).

Freddie helped redefined the WR position while with the Eagles, because there was no WR during that period.
If Mcnabb had the current collection of recievers while he was in his prime, as a Giants fan I believe they win 1-3 superbowls. Eagles wasted Mcnabbs career and blew an opportunity when the NFC was down.
