Hall of Famer Andy Robustelli passes away at age 85

Seven time All Pro player and Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Andy Robustelli passed away Tuesday at the age of 85, according to the Stamford Advocate.

A 19th-round draft pick of the Rams, Robustelli was a longshot for football greatness after playing collegiately at Arnold College. After getting dealt to the Giants, he played for for six conference champions and one NFL title team in New York. He was an All-Pro from 1956-1960 and was once named the league’s best player by the Maxwell club.

Robustelli missed only one game in his 14-year career and owned the record for fumble recoveries when he retired.

Robustelli was born in Stamford, Connecticut and finished his life there as well. We send along our condolences to the family.
