Getty ImagesWith Gus Johnson leaving for FOX, the folks at CBS needed a new play-by-play presence for its NFL coverage.
Enter Marv Albert.
Albert, who performed play-by-play duties for NFL games on NBC for 19 years, has been handling the play-by-play for Monday Night Football on Westwood One radio, with Boomer Esiason. Albert also handles NBA basketball for TNT, and college basketball for CBS.
Albert has had a strong second act to his career in the years after an unfortunate incident that, for whatever reason, never gets mentioned. Except by Michael Scott.

“YESSSSS!!!!”
Sounds like something he will be able to really sink his teeth into.
*****insert bite jokes here*******
Marv Albert lands with CBS (his rug too)
NBC said they had no problem with Marv and the only extra precaution they took were foam covered microphones to protect them from biting or prolonged use as sex toys.
And whose supposed to mention it? And why?
Marv, lose the badger on your head. We all know you’re bald. Accept it and embrace your inner Chrome Dome. You look like a dork.
CBS Cares.
Finally someone to replace Jim Nantz!!
Look, Marv’s good, but not that great for football. Let him do all the basketball he wants, but leave the football to others. Why not give Don Criqui a little more love – he’s been a loyal CBS guy he already does NFL and he deserves better than a Bills or Bengals game
marv albert = G.O.A.T yesssssssssssssssssssssssss
I hate Marv, simply for spawning the worst sports announcer in the history of the world..
I liked him best in Roger Water’s album “Amused To Death”.
yes! yes! and lose the toupe dude. no shame in it.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!
i’ll take a Hobo as long as it’s not Matt Millen’s depressing mug
No one ons it because everyone who payed attention to this case knows he’s innocent. He got raked through the mud by a scorn lover. Marv may have gotten a little rough and kinky and she was into it. Marv copped a plea because the chance of going to jail scared the **** out of him.
Thank Christ! The guy has suffered enough for his past indiscretions. Marv Albert was one of the better play by play announcers in the game.
YES!
This is AWESOME!!!! Marv is 100 times better than Gus, who was just loud.
Marv is smart, funny as hell, and dramatic.
FROM WAY DOWNTOWN!!
God bless you CBS – you hit a home run baby!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!
