With Gus Johnson leaving for FOX, the folks at CBS needed a new play-by-play presence for its NFL coverage.
Enter Marv Albert.
Albert, who performed play-by-play duties for NFL games on NBC for 19 years, has been handling the play-by-play for Monday Night Football on Westwood One radio, with Boomer Esiason. Albert also handles NBA basketball for TNT, and college basketball for CBS.
Albert has had a strong second act to his career in the years after an unfortunate incident that, for whatever reason, never gets mentioned. Except by Michael Scott.
