MDS noted early this morning that Titans playerw were taking the cool step of allowing the public (and media) to watch their first full team practice sessions this week.

The only problem: No one cleared he plan with Father Ryan High School, where the sessions will take place. Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan apologized for the confusion via Twitter Tuesday.

“If you planned to come tomorrow be mad at me but I didn’t get it approved I was excited about seeing fans and didn’t go through proper chain,” Finnegan wrote. “Be mad at me not at father Ryan.. Come to Jeff fisher softball game June 18.”

Well, Finnegan’s heart was in the right place. It’s understandable that a local high school wouldn’t be able to handle large crowds that might have shown up.

Finnegan, now entering his sixth season, has taken more of a leadership role this offseason for the Titans. He just needs to think more before tweeting.

That seems to be a popular lesson learned lately.
