Dolphins will add veteran QB, regardless of Tyler Thigpen

The Miami Dolphins are looking for someone to compete with Chad Henne for the team’s starting quarterback job. Tyler Thigpen is not that guy.

G.M. Jeff Ireland said Thursday that re-signing Thigpen is an option, especially if Thigpen is a restricted free agent. But Ireland made it clear they will add another veteran even if they bring back Thigpen, according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Thigpen has enjoyed some decent moments in his career, but struggled badly in a shutout loss to the Bears last year. It would make sense for Thigpen to have a reunion with Chan Gailey in Buffalo.
