The best part of this Lions team compared to old ones is the continuity of the staff, and the ability to dominate certain aspects of the game. Older Lions teams were merely average in most positions, you dont with with average, you with with domination. This offense should be as potenient as any in the league, and the D line…not average. They have the man power/coaching to scheme against any team’s weaknesses, and win.

Sigh… Jon Kitna did NOT predict 10 wins, and the whole mention of it is in reference to an entirely different interview BEFORE the season.

He said – when asked about the upcoming season and how he felt, etc – “Your goal should be to make the playoffs. Usually when you win 10 games you are in the playoffs. I’d be disappointed if we didn’t make the playoffs”.

Immediately, the national media went bananas and the next thing you know NFL Live had a ‘Kitna Prediction Meter’.

I don’t care WHAT he said on Jim Rome. I listen to and have listened to the weekly media conference calls with the Lions for about five years, and that particular season I had to listen to some yuppie from the other teams’ media ask him the same question about it, and sixteen straight weeks had to listen to him explain that he didn’t make a prediction.

Believe me, he didn’t predict squat.

I’m sure everything he said was blown out of proportion. What I thought he was meaning when he said we COULD go 16-0 was that we can win all 16 teams the nfl has scheduled us. The the lions are no longer written down for a loss almost every week they play. He was just saying that there isn’t anyone we can’t beat anymore.

I’m a Rams/Steelers fan. Suh is gonna be a stud. No wait he already is. And I’m sick of the whole “you can’t say this” crap. Why can’t players say we can go 16-0 or tryin to shoot for the Super Bowl? It’s stupid how that’s a big no-no.

Not a Lions fan at all, but I love Suh’s attitude. He may be brash and a little arrogant, but this is the type of comment that is positive for a team. Going 16-0 is completely unrealistic with a good young core (Jahvid Best, Calvin Johnson, Stafford) and that defensive line, this team can go far.

With guys like KVB and Suh we know Fairly will at least be working hard, those guys aren’t going to let him slack off. So if he is a bust it will be because his skill set doesn’t translate to the NFL not because he didn’t work hard.

Lions fan here. On the Jim Rome Show, Kitna predicted 10 wins when the Lions were 6-2 in 2007.

They went 1-7 to close the season at 7-9.

I like the Lions this year. Fantastic draft. I think after all is said and done, 2-3 years from now we’ll be saying that the Lions 2011 draft class was one of the best of that year.

I think 10 wins is realistic if they can keep Stafford healthy (a good running will help).

Our offense could stay at 16/17 and still do extremely well… but…. ; )
it will be top 10 this year

How the hell does PFT keep twisting Kitna’s words years later? WHY does PFT keep twisting his words? Especially when you call others out on doing the same thing? He did NOT ‘insist’ or ‘guarantee’ 10 wins. He simply did not. But PFT insists on twisting it that way.

Hey you play to win the game, you do not just play just to play it.

There is no reason to give any team on the schedule a win before they beat you.

I like the direction the Lions are heading and can see them going 10-6 or 11-5 this year if they stay healthy. Megatron and Suh are spectacular and there are plenty of other good players on the roster.
