Marc may not have any interest in running the day to day Raider operations but, you can look at that in a positive manner, in that he can still own the team, let Amy Trask run the business/community side of things, and they can finally hire a GM. Win/Win.

I wonder how the Davis family will be able to afford to keep the team after Zombie Al dies. The inheritance tax will be quite steep. That was the reason that the Detroit Pistons had to be sold. And the Raiders are twice as valuable as the Pistons

Sorry to refute this report, and especially to disagree with the “Iron Maiden, Amy;” however, Mark (Davis) already has said privately that he has no interest in running the day to day operations of the RAIDERS.

I didn’t realize AEG was trying to buy a team. I thought they just wanted to convince a team to move to LA, so they could profit off the stadium but keep the team with its current owner.

I doubt the team will “remain in the Davis family” for long. He strikes me as one of those bitter, crazy old rich men that leaves his immediate family out of his will entirely. He’s probably got some crazy clause in his will that upon his death the team will be folded into non-existence and that any remaining money in his estate will be used to sue anyone who tries to use the Raiders name in association with a new NFL franchise.

Most Raider fans who follow the team through internet stories and message boards already know that Al has said that the team will pass down to his son once he passes away. Why is this news? The news would be if that happens and his son decides to sell the team because Marc Davis is not known as a football guy.

Ah… Gregg… Al has said before that the franchise would be given to his son Mark. This is well documented.
