Collins makes sense for the Titans this year. However, as soon as Locker grasps the offense it’s time to start the process of growing a new, long term QB.

Kerry Collins is old and needs to retire. The Titans need to get a veteran QB like McNabb because Locker is not ready. Good luck going up against the Colts and Texans this year Titans.

I’m not one to defend PFT, but that’s unfair. The nursemaid line was a direct quote from Jake Scott and PFT reported it as such. If you reread the post, which is linked to in this story, you’ll see that.

If you are going to attack someone, at least have your facts straight.

where else would he still be rewarded handsomely to back-up compared to anywhere else. Collins situation is kinda unique he is a starter in a lot of pinch situations. Thanks Vince Young

A lot of vets like Collins are going to have a huge leg up on getting jobs this season due to fact that teams are just not going to have enough time to evaluate young players and will have little choice but to go with established veterans that know their system.

Obviously, that means the opposite is true for a lot of low round draftees and UDFAs who are much less likely to hang on because they simply are not going to have a full shot to prove themselves.
