Earlier this offseason, Jets players gathered in California for some lockout workouts organized by quaterback Mark Sanchez. They’re together again, but this time the sessions are happening far closer to the place the team calls home.
Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com reports that roughly 40 to 45 players participated on Monday in the first day of a three-day minicamp in New Jersey.
That’s significantly more than the more publicized “Jets West” camp, which attracted roughly 14 skill-position players.
Another big difference? The Left Coast version was publicized and open to the media. This time around, the Jets players tried to keep it quiet.
