Getty ImagesEveryone realizes that the Bears need real help at receiver.
Everyone, that is, except the Bears.
They actually picked up a little help via a largely-overlooked transaction from early February, when they signed CFL receiver Andy Fantuz. And Fantuz’s new teammates like what they’ve seen so far.
Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com reports that Fantuz participated in recent player-organized lockout workouts, and that Fantuz “drew considerable praise” from some of the other players. He reportedly displayed “impressive athletic ability and good hands while running routes.”
Last year, Fantuz caught 87 passes for 1,380 yards and six scores while playing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

For those who don’t know (and by that I mean everyone), Fantuz went to the University of Western Ontario (my alma mater).
He holds the Canadian College Football records for most career receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns.
He’ll never be Larry Fitzgerald, but he can probably play at the NFL level.
He led the CFL in a boat load of catigories. Who Knows?
well he’s over 6ft so it should be a positive review by every teamate especially Cutler
no shock that someone from the canadan football league could come in and be the bears best receiver right away.
Well, he could be good – a Fantu-z sleeper, perhaps?
A Guy that can run routes and catch!?!?!?
wow! (20$ jerry angelo makes him disappear like Devin Ahromashadoou)
