Jets wrap up “Camp Lockout”

They held a public “Jets West” camp last month in California.  They’ve now completed what they’ve called “Camp Lockout” in New Jersey.

According to the Associated Press, quarterback Mark Sanchez and more than 40 other Jets have ended a three-day session at Fairleigh Dickinson University, which is located across the road from the team’s practice facility in Florham Park.

The camp included 7-on-7 sessions and film studies.  The best news is that the practices included no injuries.  Sanchez said that the players will have more workouts “in small pockets” until the lockout ends.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News has offered up additional details regarding the event, including whether Braylon Edwards was there (he wasn’t), whether Santonio Holmes was there (he was, for part of it).  Mehta also has published a list of 37 players who were present.

Per Mehta, Sanchez said that the Jets opted to keep “Camp Lockout” quiet so that they could focus on the work.  “We’ve seen the extreme in Hard Knocks,” Sanchez said.  “This was our chance to relax and do it our way and keep it quiet.  Have fun with the guys and make it just a team thing.”

Somewhere in California, Mike Silver is giving the finger to his monitor as he reads those words.

If the Jets don’t resign LT, Braylon, Holmes, there whole O-line.. Sanchez is going to look very mediocre ….actually he’s been looking mediocre, well he’s going to suck bad!

    what are you smoking????

who cares if they don’t resign Braylon???? Holmes will be back with Cotchery and Keller.

LT is under contract and he isn’t even the starting RB

    O-line IS under contract

Jets are going to contend again not sure I can say the same about Ravens in 2011.

Love them or hate them, if you look at the 37 players who showed up, it’s an impressive roster.

What’s the backstory on this picture of Sanchez? Is he building homes during the lockout?

Nah, it was him at the Sprint Cup or something racing related. The day before he hung out with autistic kids at a school. So it’s not like he sits on his butt and eats hot dogs.

The Jets by far have the corniest group of players in the NFL.

Like these names for example Jets West, Jets East, Camp lockout. I mean come on, is it really necessary to give the place your going to workout a name?

I just know they were the kids in highschool calling themselves the Fab 5 or had little names for their clicks like the Royal Oaks Posse. It really doesnt get any cornier then that.

I don’t care what they call themselves..when 37 players show up on their own dime to work ok that’s fine by me.
