Ironic that these rings were designed by a MN based company. I’m sure Jostens kept a version for show as well, which means MN has Super Bowl rings here!

… yeah, I know I’m reaching and it’s sad, but the sad state of pro sports affairs here means you’ve got to take what you can get!

From what I’ve read, the NFL does but the team has to pay for the ones that are over the 150 ring limit.

I think it was Tom Silverstein last night who reported the NFL gives $5,000 per ring for up to 150 rings. Everything else comes out of the teams pocket.

Packers officially founded: 1921, but had been competing in professional football in America since the late 1800′s.

Steelers officially founded: 1933.

Steelers adopt a military stencil typeface font: 1963 (at that point, the Packers had already won 8 World Championships), I believe that’s right around the time that Hines Ward was born.

I know it’s crazy to hear, Pittsburgh, but you are not even second fiddle. At this point, the Bears (vomits) are second to the Packers’ 13 Championships, with 9 of their own.

And yes, those count. Just because they didn’t have some magical name for it, a World Championship is still a World Championship.

Those are gorgeous. I love reading about all the symbolism cleverly depicted in each part too. I’ve been to the HOF and seen the display of all the rings. It’s really cool to see how they have evolved over the years.

I like their ring, very nice..I think it’s very symbolic of GB with the G emblem and the green backing with diamonds on the letters. Congrats again to the Packers…just hoping we actually have a season and a chance for the Steelers to shoot for #7!!!

If you’re referring to the side view on the right, that is actually their text logo and endzone font. Not to burst your Steeler-centric universe’s bubble.

That’s quite lovely. They’ve done a very nice job, especially when you read about the symbolism. They managed to include a lot of history without making it gaudy.

Just like all championship rings – excessively bloated overdone design. I said the same thing about my beloved Colts when they won the SB in ’06. Why not just something simple and tasteful. You know, sports championship rings are a microcosm of what is wrong with American society.
