Prosecutor says “I’m tired of Kenny Britt” before latest charges get reduced

Kenny Britt’s latest trip to a courtroom proved fruitful. The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Britt had charges stemming from an incident last week downgraded to “disorderly persons offenses” on Thursday.

The previous charges were resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and obstruction after Britt reportedly crushed a blunt as plainclothes cops approached him.

“I’m tired of Kenny Britt,” Hudson County (N.J.) prosecutor Edward DeFazio told the Tennessean. DeFazio said. “But by the same token, you can’t make things more serious than they are because it’s Kenny Britt.”

DeFazio also dealt with Britt last week on careless driving charges.  Judge Margaret Marley greeted Britt on Thursday morning by telling him to get his hands out of his pockets.

  1. Putting out your blunt is “tampering with evidence and obstruction”???

What was he supposed to do, offer the cop a hit?

  2. Some kids just don’t get it. I bet there is thousands of kids that can only dream to have the talent and ability Britt has and would put it to good use for a good cause. Instead this kid is smashing his head against the wall and doesn’t understand it. It’s sad that he is wasting a opportunity of a lifetime. Hope he wakes up.

  3. Its a sad commentary on your life when the prosecutor is commenting that he is tired of you and the baliff knows how you take your coffee. Generally speaking, unless you are an attorney, the less time spent in their company, the better.

    Stop playing with your Wiener..

  5. Kenny Britt is on a freight train heading toward his next stop,PRISON.

Maybe that might make him understand the talent that he has wasted. How many times does one person get arrested?

  6. “Well at least we know where he would be if he didn’t get an NFL check.”

Thumped up by 118, thumbed down by 1.

    Must be Kenny Britt’s dad.

  7. What a shame, I guess football got in way of your life Kenny. To bad your skills could not given to someone with some living brain cells. Now that would be one heck of a player.

  8. This is neither here not there but the guy basically got popped for smoking pot.

Why are we spending the amount of time and capital that we are as a society on this issue? What’s the point? To give Kenny Britt another arrest on his record?

I’m not defending him for being a chowderhead but getting popped for smoking pot is like getting popped for jaywalking these days.

I’d rather get some tax revenue out of the people who can’t stop recreating with weed as opposed to spending scarce tax revenue prosecuting them.

  9. Thumbs up = Kenny Britt is arrested again before 2012

    Thumbs down = you’re crazy

  10. Kenny should sign w/ a California team. You tell them the herb is for your headaches, and boom, your buying legal weed (sorta). SMOKE AT HOME YOU IDIOT!! simple solution to a stupid problem

What is he, in the Army?

No. But seriously? His sister is (or was, recently), serving in Iraq.

At least someone in the family has a sense of what it means to be an adult, with real responsibilities. Wish Kenny could trade places with her for a while and learn some, too.
