To kevishu's comment above:

"I’ve never denied agreeing to drug testing for any company I’ve worked for. The only reason I would have is if I had something to hide."
-------------------------------------------------

Yeah if you are very short-sighted, I guess you can conclude that they have something to hide.
Second, this is not about YOU, so cut out the "I" do this, and "I" don't do this (therefore it's right)... crap.

It's simply not worth the millions and millions $$ the owners and league will have to spend on it every year, to catch one guy every twelve or so years. Don't believe me? Look at the leagues that do test for HGH, they catch no one - yet spend millions. Why? There may be many reasons. But the first that pops up to mind, is the current testing is highly insufficent. It requires the athlete have used HGH less than 24 hrs prior. No HGH users do it every day.

Next, nobody is not agreeing to do testing for the NFL. You're statement is irrelevant. They submit to plenty of testing - for THC, cocaine, heroin, PCP, ampetamines, steroids, etc. What's sufficient for you? For them to test for every drug in the book??? Are you being tested for HGH, or acid, shrooms, embalming fluid??? It's obvious your head lacks logic my friend, and maybe you could use illegal drugs to kick some in.

Lastly, I'm sure just like Manny Pacquiao has something to hide against Mayweather? That has to be it! Pacquiao has got something to hide ?.... idiot!

go somewhere else kev my friend, where lame ignorant posts are more accepted.

I don't understand why everyone wouldn't support HGH testing?? Id rather my team be on a fair playing field just like everyone else.

Cheating ruins the competitive balance in the league... Its well known that the Steelers in the 70's were all on steroids when they won 4 Championships and the rest of the league hadn't really discovered steroids yet. The Patriots used spygate in the early 2000's and won 3 championships...

Cheating ruins the game and the cover ups are even worse. I understand that the test may not be perfect, but at the very least it would serve as a deterant for several players who would fear even the possibility of being caught and face hefty fines and suspensions.

How about creating some jobs. Then maybe change the health care system so that an illness can't force a middle class person into bankruptcy.
Whether Congress pokes their nose into the NFL business or not, the idea of any and all type of drug testing should be part of the new CBA. It's no secret that any player denying this are hiding something. Look at it as trying to make the greatest American sport even better,... by guaranteeing cleanliness of the athletes and integrity of the game. I've never denied agreeing to drug testing for any company I've worked for. The only reason I would have is if I had something to hide.

The current HGH test isn't even semi-reliable. Not a single player in any league in the world has ever been caught in the 10s of 1000s of tests. The rugby player that was "caught" was ratted out, he didn't "test" positive.

HGH provides no performance benefits for a healthy person of NFL-playing age anyway, so if a player did use it, he's a moron.

But the current test requires that the person use HGH less than 24 hrs before the blood is drawn, and even then it isn't reliable. The test is a giant waste of money. The owners and players are fighting over money right now, and the owners want to throw away millions of dollars a year on a testing program that everyone already knows (or should know) isn't effective or necessary? That is just stupid.

What no one talks about when the talking about testing for HGH is that the only semi-reliable test is a blood test.

Two issues:

1) It's only semi-reliable.
2) When you start allowing blood to be tested, you open the door to test for a LOT more things.

I just thought that should be said here.

Hey congress don’t you have anything more important to do besides poking your nose into NFL drug testing policy?

The NFL enjoys the benefits of Antitrust Exemption that other businesses don't have so Congress has every right to stick their nose into their business. Congress has oversight on many things, don't be so shortsighted.
