Getty ImagesSteelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s annual football camp opens today. According to Mike Prisuta of WDVE, Roethlisberger said that the team’s offensive players held lockout workouts during the offseason.
As far as we can tell, it’s the first acknowledgement that the Steelers players engaged in any type of organized practices during the lockout.
Though it remains to be seen whether the lockout workouts will have any value, it’s better than doing nothing. Or, at a minimum, it’s not worse than doing nothing.
Unless and until a guy tears an ACL.

14-2?
Why so secretive? These workouts in Midgeville or something?
Thats cause he’s the man.
Maybe that’s the first we’ve heard of it because instead of staging a media event, the Steelers players were just … working out.
Workouts have value. Making it public does nothing for them.
Guys like him are what made me decide to get a P.R. degree. While he should be in jail, castrated or sent to live in some unholy godforsaken land like Iraq or Canada, he’s still walking the streets. Him being allowed in public is putting women and children in danger because of his sexual predator issues and the country at large in danger with his dangerous and stupid motor vehicle problems.
Nice to hear the offense apparently just got together and worked out with no fan fare. While likely not as intense as a regular team workout, it can’t hurt.
Also, I am really happy about no negative off-season news this year. It won’t stop the idiots from making the same lame jokes and innuendo, but that is their problem. And with them coming off losing the Super Bowl, I think the Steelers will play with a vengance this year. I hope the entire schedule is salvaged after the lockout, so we don’t miss the Ravens game right off the bat.
GO STEELERS!!
As long as he has stopped doing 12 OZ curls, all is well.
@ kyleortonsarm
I agree with you 100%…..if he were found guilty and charged, but he wasn’t! You must root for a team that the Steelers always beat up on.
11-5 Playoffs, but no Superbowl. At some point Polomalu has to get old. Hell of a player.
@kyleortonsarm …
You’re on every Steelers thread mouthing off about Roethlisberger when the medical exam showed he didn’t rape anyone in Georgia and the text messages show he didn’t rape anyone in Nevada. Obviously you just hate the Steelers and can’t come up with a more creative way to express it. And whatever reason you had for getting a PR degree, it wasn’t to help rid the world of Roethlisbergers. PR hacks are the guys Roethlisbergers call when they need help rehabbing their images.
kyleortonsamazinglackoftalent should be in jail for felony rape of logic.
why the acl comment in a steeler post. Knock on wood please. 8-8 thats funny
Hey Deb, master of disinformation, the medical exam results revealed physical trauma consistent with forced sex. It also found male DNA, but not in enough volume nessary to perform analysis that would yield a statistical certainty of the particular male.
Lastly, Deb, my younger sister was raped and suffocated to death at age 16. You ain’t got nothin’ on me.
